Reverse Signs Of Aging With A Breast Lift

As a woman ages, the effects of gravity, pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight changes and simple aging can take a toll on her bust. It’s not at all uncommon for a woman to notice sagging or a loss of firmness at early as 40. If you feel your breasts are beginning to sag or droop, a breast lift can restore a high, firm bust line. In addition, having a breast lift done opens up the possibility of changing your overall breast size. If you’re dissatisfied with the position, fullness, firmness or even size of your breasts, this procedure can address your specific issues.

Reasons to Consider a Breast Lift Procedure

The American Board of Cosmetic Surgery lists several reasons why patients may seek a breast lift, including undoing the effects of pregnancy and breastfeeding; restoring shape and volume after a major weight loss; or creating a high, perky bosom again or even for the first time. All of these reasons are entirely valid and show the wide variety of reasons women have for seeking this type of procedure. Other reasons can include a lack of confidence, discomfort with large, low breasts or even discomfort caused by shapewear. Another reason is simply the desire for a better silhouette.

Deciding If You’re Ready for a Breast Lift

Each patient is an individual with their own special circumstances and schedules. With that said, there are some common traits that successful breast lift recipients share. First, you should be sure your biological family is complete. Like any other breast augmentation procedure, this surgery can make future breastfeeding impossible. The weight gain associated with pregnancy can also undo the results, making a revision surgery necessary. Second, you should be in good overall health. You also want to make sure you have the time available in your schedule to fully recover.

Considering Changes in Volume

Before you decide if a breast lift is right for you, you should also consider whether or not you are satisfied with the size of your breasts in general. During your procedure, you can also have the size of your breasts reduced or enhanced. Our surgeon can advise you as to what size you can expect to have with your natural tissues. It’s then up to you if you’d like to have tissue removed or implants inserted.
