Thigh Lift:What is a thigh lift? If you have loose saggy skin on your thighs either from weight loss or simply from gravity's constant pull, the surgical procedure known as thighplasty can help firm and tone creating a more attractive and youthful appearance How is the procedure performed? Thighplasty is a rather extensive form of plastic surgery, so it is usually performed in an accredited surgery center or hospital. The operation typically requires two to four hours to complete. Typically, general anesthesia is used. Dr. Bootstaylor will make a small incision along the upper thigh, stretches the skin, and reattaches it. The incisions are inconspicuous, located in the groin area with scars that are easily hidden by a bathing suit. How quickly will I heal? You will be able to resume many activities within the first week following the thighplasty. Most activities will be accessible by at least three weeks after the operation. Although you will be up and about, you should expect to take about a week off from work. What are my risks? As with any surgery there are risks involved: excessive bleeding, clotting can occur. |
